Terms of Use & Data License
Version 2026-08-20. These terms govern use of whoownscare.com and every report, dataset and file WhoOwnsCare sells. WhoOwnsCare is operated by TechStack Consulting LLC, a Texas limited liability company. Questions: support@whoownscare.com.
1. What you are licensed to use
WhoOwnsCare products contain two kinds of material. The underlying records are public: United States Government works published by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, which anyone may retrieve and lawfully use directly from CMS, and nothing in these terms restricts that. What WhoOwnsCare licenses, and what these restrictions apply to, is our proprietary layer: the analysis, entity resolution, corporate-family mappings, operator identification, classifications, scoring, derived metrics, compilations, annotations, organisation and presentation that turn those records into the products we sell.
2. Standard Internal-Use License
Every ordinary purchase includes a Standard Internal-Use license for the purchasing person or organisation. Under it you may use the product for internal research and analysis, investment research, market research, transaction screening, lending research, business development, and consulting analysis; you may include reasonable excerpts in internal presentations; and you may cite the product with attribution to WhoOwnsCare.
You may not: resell the complete report; redistribute the complete dataset; publish its data in bulk; build a competing ownership database from WhoOwnsCare output; white-label the report or dataset as your own research; extract its contents through systematic automated means; or reconstruct WhoOwnsCare's proprietary ownership-resolution output for redistribution.
3. Commercial / Redistribution License
A separate commercial license is required for customer-facing redistribution, embedding WhoOwnsCare data into another commercial product, large-scale republishing, API access, resale, white-label use, and derivative database products. Contact support@whoownscare.com.
4. Website use
Free pages on whoownscare.com may be read, cited and linked. Systematic scraping of the site to reconstruct our resolved ownership graph or scoring output for redistribution is not permitted. Search engine and answer engine crawling of public pages is welcome.
5. Accuracy, screening signals, and what our scores are not
Figures are reproduced from filings as submitted by enrollees and are not independently verified. Corporate-family attribution is analytical, carries explicit confidence labels, and is not a CMS designation. Distress scores are screening signals identifying facilities whose data may warrant further diligence; a score does not establish that any facility is for sale, insolvent, poorly operated, unsafe, or suitable for acquisition. Products are provided as is, without warranty of any kind, and WhoOwnsCare's aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the product giving rise to it.
6. Prohibited uses
No product or page may be used for employment, credentialing, insurance underwriting of an individual, tenancy, or any other purpose covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. WhoOwnsCare is not a consumer reporting agency. Products are keyed to organisations, states and facilities, never to named individuals.
7. Purchases, delivery and refunds
Purchases are governed by the Digital Product Refund Policy, disclosed at checkout and incorporated into these terms. Subscription products renew automatically until canceled, as disclosed at checkout; cancellation instructions appear on the pricing page and in every delivery email.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
9. Changes
We may update these terms; the version date above changes when we do. The version in force when you purchase governs that purchase, and we record which version you accepted.
